You were probably looking at where they give a brief history of the artists that sing the opening and closing themes. Humming Bird is the band that Yoshiki Fukuyama was with from 1988 until May 2000. It was during that time (in 1998) that he recorded "Looking for the Rainbow".

It's an understandable mistake if you can't actually read much Japanese. ^-^

No, this was the opening to Niji no Senki Iris back in 1998. This is the same singer who will be doing the Busou Renkin opening though. I haven't heard it yet, but the name of the song is "Makka na Chikai" (deep red oath).
