Why point the scroll at the floor? Stand with good posture; let the violin come up a little too.

I think you do an amazing job. For a 10 year old to even consider taking on this concerto shows your determination, discipline and love for this great piece of music. I first heard this by Perlman as I was eating lunch in my car. The second movement caused me to break down and sob. My wife was listening at home and cried also. I'm sure you will persevere and play it flawlessly. My deepest gratitude goes out to anyone who plays this piece, it is my all time favorite.

I think this is a wonderful piece of music and is underplayed... nobody knows of it, and I think it honestly has some of the very best elements of all genres of classical music.
Very nice playing!

The Beach Cities Symphony is in the general Los Angeles area. The conductor (and music director) is Barry Brisk, who has been with the orchestra for the past 15 years. Mr. Brisk is an accomplished conductor, violist, and pianist who also teaches music in the Los Angeles area.
Ms. Su's father s an accomplished violinist and teacher and (last I remember) is concertmaster with a local symphony.
This is an excellent performance of the 1st movement of the Goldmark concerto.

debrecenfan can compare his performance to yours, you played the same piece, regardless of the age you were.

wow damn nice job. I'm going to be working on this soon and I'm 21. I suck...
that's damn good.
Why's your scroll pointing to the floor so much? higher scroll lets better bow control and all sorts of shenaniganz that're good like that happen. Although you're probably older and know this already and probably could school my ass on violin.
But damn nice work that's a real accomplishment.

so funny!

you're right. it doesnt matter if you're playing this piece as a ten year old. if a three year old can play twinkle twinkle better, then they'll win the contest.
