  • The motor insulation (green sponge above the motor) seems to come off bit-by-bit and get lodged, trapped in the HEPA filter.

I want to know if this is a defect or whether all Callisto's have this issue. Please let me know if you have little green furs in the bottom of your hepa filter.

  • Hey nightshot103, I have never seen that on my calisto. you might wanna check that out with your dealer. why? is yours brand new or used? :)

  • I'm trying to figure out if it's new or used myself. Most vacuum dealers around here, except for one or two, seem extremely dirty, shady. Difficult people.

Professorkiwiw, It's strange how you don't have this issue. Mustang123 below tole me he has the same issue.

I visited two dealer demos, and there demos have the same green insulation wrapped around the motor.

The issue now seems to be the location. GoVacuum said that his is located "underneath" the motor, where it's "hidden"

  • I'll re-look again, i must have clearly looked in the wrong area on my unit. I will let you know. i only use mine once every other week. :P

  • Your light does not appear to be working in the SEB-236.

  • It's not, the flourecent bulb is burnt out. I still have to replace it. :P

  • It's probably used if what you say is true.

If you can lend a helping hand, let me know if you can at least SEE the spongy insulation.

If you take out the HEPA filter and look near the end of the motor, you should see the insulation if your Callisto is like mine.

All the other Callisto's I've seen on the dealer's floor demo have it like mine.

But GoVacuum told me that it's actually hidden.

  • I'm going buy one, but I'm concerend that the dealer will try to sneak in a polished up demo or used Callisto.

I'd like to know any tell-tale signs that the machine is used and how the package looks.

I hope the box is tamper proof.

  • I'm concerned about the swiveling vacuum head. Looks difficult to vacuum with, trying to tame the head like that.

  • maybe it does u just cant see it
