Glee, I so agree with you ;) BUT I wish it was a a bit real...lol

@RobNorthampton Aww in the more scrubber areas the Aussie accent is heavier but I'd say it's pretty much all the same, just with different levels of bogan-ness.

I bet what's left of your brain oozed out of ya ears long, long ago!

My Great Aunt, who was born in 1899, used to say another one to me as a kid, because of my name, Rob (or Bob).
"If thar Bob dunt gi' ah Bob that bob that thar Bob owes ah Bob, ah Bob's gunna gi' thar Bob a bob in the eye! An ah Bob's bigger than thar Bob!" :-)

You got it, Glee. But you can imagine how odd it sounds to people outside the area, as it did to me when I first moved here.Although saying that, the Lincolnshire accent where I'm from is quite odd too. Luckily mine was much watered down! An old ditty from Lincolnshire goes: Cum yar off that blitherin' gayut! Come yar off that gayut, mayut! If thar dunt ah'll fetch mah rayuk, mayut! An' then thar'll be too layut, mayut!

Thanking you kindly :)
I think the whole show is a joke and one shouldn't take it too seriously, learning to kill lobsters and talk with some weird accent that no one has used since 1940 doesn't make a person better than anybody else.
A real premise of trying to improve anybody's life, focusing on things that matter wouldn't make for good TV. You need a few old dragons that are so up themselves to laugh at.
It wasn't played over here in the UK though, no one has heard of it!

Yes you're probably correct,I can also see why it wasn't shown in Britain.Of course they'd get a bigger audience in ustralia..where,I might say, there is still an inferiority complex..making the old dragons more of a drawcard. Oh well!

I don't know if Oz has regional accents like we have in Britain. You can drive 50 miles and accents change markedly. If somebody talks quickly, it can be difficult to understand sometimes. In Northampton, a local might say, "Om godda goo dane tane t' boy sum brane traiziz" Work that one out! :-) I'm not sure where the 'posh' accent comes from, but it seems to be the same nationwide. My other half, Piers, speaks with a 'posh' accent because he was brought up that way. Pity he's skint tho!
