In an exclusive interview with Accuracy in Media (AIM), Andy McCarthy claimed that what's happening in the Middle East "is not the spontaneous outbreak of democracy," but rather the ascendancy of Islamic supremacism. McCarthy, who prosecuted Omar Abdel-Rahman (the "Blind Sheikh) for the first World Trade Center bombing, also observed that the only countries that practice slavery today are Islamic countries.
McCarthy recently authored Spring Fever: The Illusion of Islamic Democracy. In the AIM interview, he pointed out that America and Islam are two different civilizations and that while we're a freedom culture, in Islam "liberty is subordinated to 'order'...sharia law."
McCarthy also said that what the media largely ignore is the fact that there is serious persecution of religious minorities throughout the Middle East. He indicated that 0f the worst 50 countries that persecute religious minorities today, 36 of them are Muslim countries.

Ministers of Propaganda would have you believe that about T. Jefferson. George W Bush was Very first President to host an Iftar dinner @ the White House. Dig for information and you'll find absolute facts.

Since islam is over 1,300 years old, when did this all take place? We started buying oil from them in the 1930's, if memory serves. Before that they were all secular societies? That's odd, because that's not the history I was taught. I guess the Barbary pirates were secularists? Thomas Jefferson wasted his time reading the koran, inviting them to the W.H. for the eid feast, trying to reason with them because they weren't really islamists, they were secularists. Wow.
