...as I watched it fall, I noticed that it was a red brick. As is happened, the impact did not even hurt. But I am certain that without the hardhat that I was wearing that day, the brick would have either killed me or knocked me out. AND....
...and I was standing at the edge of one of the dump zones about three or four floors up from the bottom floor. I felt something bounce off of my hardhat and continue downward...
This reminds me of a true story that I like to tell people:
Back about 1982 or '83, I was working on a demolition-renovation job at the Sinclair Center, downtown Vancouver. We had a hole cut through about half a dozen floors or more, from top to bottom...
