Thanks for adding this. It is my favorite Heather Nova song. Somehow this seems to be her most personal song. Did she ever discuss the specific inspiration for this song anywhere? The words seem obvious. But, there is a real hidden emotion and trauma behind it. Would love to know more....

I always took it to be about a girl trapped in a relationship with a socialite, having to fake enthusiasm and compromise herself for him. The line "when you got me pregnant i...stopped your father and blead instead" sounds like she was forced to take anabortion rather than ruin the fellow's reputation. Maybe its just me.
