In California's Juvenile Justice System, prison staff can "add time" or delay a youth's parole consideration for up to a year without due process. These "time adds" are a major reason why California's youth serve the longest sentences in the nation and they are costing California Millions of dollars.

Join our movement to stop time adds.

  • If you guys need me to tell you guys about anything in CYA I can. I was in 4 different institutions. Some of things I have seen things, and things have happened to me people would never think could happen in a juvenile facility. Anything I can do to help our children.

I am 33 years old, and I still have not recovered from CYA. I dont even know how to deal with people still. I still look over my shoulder and have alot of problems being out in public.

  • @HUER0L0K0 Thanks for your support. Our organization is working to close California's abusive, costly youth prisons and replace them with bolstered community-based programs and regional rehabilitation centers.

  • I went to CYA and was only supposed to do 18 months. I ended up doing 48 months which was my max. 1995-2000 Horrible place free our children. That place turns kids into hardened criminals.

  • @HUER0L0K0 Thank for sharing, our youth prison system is definitely broken. Community-based programs have been proven to work in other states and California’s youth deserve better.
