In 1974,Y.Lagrange,an unknown film director "stole" the rehearsal's tapes of Magma's "Wurdah Itah"'album for his own film score !!
The music wasn't "ready" yet and the movie is really a pain to watch, but it's interesting to lesson to the Wurdah Itah's "work in progress"!
Forget the ridiculous images and enjoy the sound!

  • This was somebody's student production, right? :-)

  • unfortunately...no!

this crappy Unidentified Film Object should have been released in regular theaters !!

    aaaaaah,seventies...

  • Amazing, that's something I really never expected to see. Is this movie available anywhere? Was it ever even released?

  • no release in video or dvd,the movie have been released only in a few theatres in 74

  • Well, justice is served. This waste of celluloid is forever remembered only for its great music. Magma unfinished is still better than Lagrange completed! ;)

One question: why on earth (or Kobaia) does not Christian Vander repackage this album so it no longer mentions "Tristan et Yseult"? Was there a binding contract or something?

  • luudnoma, if you get the "Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie au Trianon," you can see all of Theusz Hamtaahk, Wurdah Itah -and- Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh performed live. C'est formidable!

see all

  • @zombywoof92 Exactly what I was thinking when I first saw this. :-D

  • Who knew that the Knights who say "Ni!" got their own feature film? Great music, though!! I would love to see the whole thing.

  • @JeffersonLeeEng oh go & watch inception or some other shit like that and stop complaining

  • @JeffersonLeeEng oh go & watch inception or some other shit like that

  • Great use of Wainsaht if you ask me

  • Yes, the film music was taken from Magma's studio work in preparation for Wurdah Itah, not the actual final piece. So it has lots of bits that didn't make the album, and this mix is very rough. The ending section here is actually from the early part of WI though, just a bit harsher than what we usually hear.

  • You know what, let's not be too hard on this section, because the use of Orff's music by Basil Poledouris in the opening scenes of the 1st Conan film, which this predates, would seem to owe a bit to this guy's vison....no?

  • the only way to get the Wagnerian trip without the nasty anti-semitism is to sidestep the old bastard and pick up on say Mahler... and MAGMA !

  • C'est filmé par un gosse?

Si non, c'est le pire film de l'Histoire du cinema, avec en fond sonore la meilleure musique de toute l'Histoire de la musique (bon, à part le Sacre du Printemps, bien sûr).

  • thank you for this unbeliverable document :)
