sold at food markets only may sound funny to the hip young kids of today but there were LOTS of these kinds of big ticket toys that were distributed that way. tiger joe was my number one for a llong time, big enough to play with with GI Joes and shot those shells an impressive distance, probably too far to meet modern safety standards. the "smoke" came from baby powder you put on them. this commercial shows it exactly as it is.

@enduroman428 This company also made a toy fire truck with a pump that shot a pretty good stream of water. There's a great thing to put in the hands of a kid!

Yeah awesome !

Holy Patton! I got one of these christmas long about 63 or 64. If you wanted "smoke" from the barrel you had to load the breech with talc, or in my case flour cause I didn't know what the hell talc was. Mom was nonetheless pleased with all the white blotches on the living room carpet.

Today, many organizations are against toys like plastic guns, soldiers, tanks... I say: THANK YOU (CHINA:), for making my childhood a great adventure. And you know what- my upbringing and code of ethics are much better then today generation's who spend the time on computer and with those expensive phones.

Awesome! What a great Christmas it was when my next-door neighbor got one of these. The BEST Christmas was when I got a Robot Commando. Haven't seen an ad for one of those yet.

it looks like a M26 pershing with a T-34-76 turret with a huge 122 gun

The effects crew/model builders from the Tv series UFO used the wheels, chassis, and remote control and customised a earth defense battle tank called the mobiles in the show.

@ToyKingWonder i'm the "modern kid" i guess you can call it that, usually toys are bought at the toy store, and food is bought at the grocery store. Maybe a nik nak or two, but nothing of this magnitude have i seen at a jewel, or a domminics. But now, i understand why they do this, the other day i went to the menards, and they sold dog food there. at the time i wrote that comment, i was a bit naive i suppose.
i burst out laughing when it said its only sold at food markets! XD

Wow! I had one of those! My brothers and I shot several balls off the Xmas tree with it, until Mom found out.
