I always found this song intriguing, so I decided to try to re-create this song as closely as possible to the Beatles original version.

While I isolated and looped some of the original effects from the actual song (backwards seagull, etc.) to do this, all else -- the vocal, drums, bass, keyboard, guitar (backwards) and some original effects (sitar sound, backwards strings) I do perform.

Certainly not the most musically challenging, but the mixing was tedious and, overall, a lot of fun to do.

Hope you enjoy!

  • This is all very very impressive.

I only think you need to work on the drums. They are a bit off rhythm at points and as Nacnueed said, the overwhelming cymbal droning is essential to the song.

Overall a very good effort. Especially with the samples. Wow.

  • Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment! Yeah, agree that the drums are the weakest link in the tune. Putting all these parts together and timing some of my reverse effects though was quite a project - phew! (ha-ha)

  • Everythin sounds real close except your drum sounds, cymbals aren't "washy" enough, and you need that "ringing" snare sound. Still vocals and effects are amazin'. 4 stars

  • I completely agree about the drums. Ringo's production on the song was up-front and "in your face." It was impossible for me to even come close using the MIDI keyboard drum sound that I had to work with. But thanks for the other positive comments!

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to give a listen and also glad you weren't disappointed!

  • WOW first few seconds i thought tha john is singing.Work on drums and that kind of piano sound and it would be the best youtube cover of this song. And if you can try to get that vocal effect.Bravo

  • my only problem is the vocals, sounds like ur trying too hard, still love everything else good job!

  • wow, very cool...nice job...you did the beatles justice (i like your george harrison moustache)

  • @pin28son A throwaway song? Why do you think that?

  • best when you get that bass LOUD and fast

  • very good job, as said drums are all thats a spot off, but the vox and effects are DEAD on, love the trippyness man great job

  • Hi I love the cover. you got the feeling really well. I'm working on a cover myself (different from the original) but I'm having trouble getting the backwards/background stuff.. how did u do it and if you used the original tracks, how did u mute the drums and everything from it? Any help would be appreciated. thanks...Good cover once again.

  • I really think those backround effects are an important part of this piece... If you're annoyed by them then you haven't got the point of this song...
