This chaser is very calm, Reed Timmer would be like "Oh my God!!! Oh my God!!! Oh my God!!!"

It's amazing how deceptive the sky can look. The rotation appears to be very slow; you don't really see just how fast it really is spinning unless it's right on top of you. Beautiful footage, nice steady camera!

can anyone explain this to me? about amonth abo we had some strange looking storms by our house. the sky was churning and clouds seemed to appear out of nowhere just like this! it was such a turbulent sky. and we had no tornado warnings around us, not even a severe thunderstorm warning. it scared the crap out of me! what was going on?

It's hard to say what was happening. sometimes non-severe storms can exhibit severe storm characteristics when undergoing rapid intensification. This may result in rising and condensing clouds going up into the cloud base, which could briefly rotate, but doesn't necessarily mean it's enough for the storm to have a severe updraft or strong enough rotation to produce a tornado.
