In this video, it shows myself upgrading my iMac G4's Hard Disk Drive from 80Gb to 120Gb, the whole upgrade took 1 hour and 4 minutes.

Current Specs:
1Ghz G4
17" Widescreen
768Mbs of RAM
120Gb HDD
Superdrive

This video was uploaded and edited on the very computer being upgraded in this video as opposed to my new Mac Mini.

  • How do you boot up after you put the new drive in?

  • @seanboiles You have to re install the operating system, Mine already had Tiger on it so I was fine, but I did wipe it and put leopard on it later on.

  • how can i install a bluetooth adapter inside the imac and where can i get one?

  • @leenev1 To install it, you have to remove the logic board and insert it into a port on the underside of the board, then connect the bluetooth antenna. As for buying one, eBay would be your best bet.

  • whats the biggest hard drive that you can put into a 17" imac g4 1ghz

  • @leenev1 Any size if its 1Ghz+, if its a slower/older model then it will read up to 128Gbs of storage space, you can insert a larger drive but only 128Gbs would be recognized.
