A radio concert from between the release of Cold Spring Harbor and Piano Man. It has songs from both albums. I hope you enjoy it! I'll be making a playlist with the entire concert in order.

  • Also, it's kinda hard to record music after the fact - you'd get silence. The Attic songs were recorded at concerts rather than in the studio, because Billy felt that they were meant to played for people, not microphones.

No matter where you record - in the studio or on the stage - they can always screw it up by MASTERING it incorrectly, as I said already. This is done after the recording process.

If you want these songs on an iPod, say, I suggest searching "Download MP3 from YouTube".

  • Can you buy this album anywhere? Was this ever released on an album?

  • @WithTheMovies This was released on his first album, Cold Spring Harbor. I don't believe I've seen it for sale (I may have seen it on CD once but didn't purchase it), but personally, you'd have the best luck in FYE if there's one near you. I know that the original vinyl was mastered incorrectly, so everything came out higher, causing the record to flop.

  • The picture I have up is the album cover, though it's a bootleg of the concert - it's not an album you can find by going to say, FYE (and if you can, I'm buyin' it first - just saying). "Songs In The Attic" is not this concert. "She's Got A Way", "Everybody Loves You Now", "Captain Jack", and "The Ballad of Billy The Kid" appear on it, but I do not believe they were these versions - his voice sounds much more muture on the Attic album. The Attic songs were collected from various concerts.

  • This man's astounding talent never ceases to amaze me.

  • all theese were released by Billy Joel on an album called "Songs In The Atic" he proformed the songslive so no one couldspeed them up ... I hope this helps

  • Artie Ripp, owner of Family Productions and hence the owner of the original master tapes, re-mixed and re-released an updated version of the album in 1983 on Columbia Records, without any involvement by Billy Joel. You can get it on CD now,but what a mess for such a beautiful album!
