http://www.ascent2change.co.uk I was in the flow on this video blog today and lost all my camera skills because I get hyped up when I think that something as great as Talent Management might be considered just the latest fad. If you want to retain and motivate the employees in your organisation it's a no-brainer to adopt a talent management approach. After all, in the current climate you want to optimise the chances of employee engagement and ultimately, that's what talent management is all about.
Employee engagement is about the emotional and spiritual connection employees have with what they do and who they work with and for. 100% engagement means employees need to feel that the work has purpose and meaning way behind just bringing in the readies! After all, if it's just about the money, your organisation will suffer from another buzzword - presenteeism! They'll be there in body, but definitely not in spirit. And that's when you fall foul of another buzzword - discretionary effort; just doing enough to meet the job requirements.
All in all, I was definitely in the flow today and this vid is one of function over form:-)
