Yea. I am no expert on sleeping gases and you make a good point. It looks like they did a great job with flash bangs and exploited the delivery of supplies. Also, the explosives were a big deal and needed to be investigated. They did take the risk because they felt the child was in danger if they didn't act.

Yes there have been numerous incidents of police brutality and general harassment of civilians which is absolutely unacceptable and should result in these cops being fired immediately and subject to any necessary/proper criminal proceedings/punishment.

However, in this case they are doing the right thing. If they go in guns blazing they may kill the hostage-taker, but the hostage will most likely be killed by the hostage-taker or in the crossfire.
