Templehall is a housing estate in Kirkcaldy sometimes jokingly described as Temple Hell.It was hard hit by the closure of the coal mines.A culture based on working at the pit was replaced with a new culture, the Benefit culture. The area at the far end of the shopping precinct became a hub for heroin dealers. It has remained so for 30 years. If you look closely at the video I`ve caught a couple of dealers on camera in black bomber jackets just after they picked up.
When Gordon Brown became prime minister he sent a 100 strong police team into Temple Hell in a blaze of publicity. He was going to root out the smack dealers and reclaim the shopping precinct for law abiding citizens to frequent without fear.
They broke down doors on a shift basis, street by street. Every street was affected by the crackdown. In a public announcement they offered free Methadone to any Drug users who came forward with information. This resulted in a 30 yard queue forming outside the clinic every day.The `information` obtained was useless, the police ran out of doors to ram and it was over.
They got some kids for smoking pot and persecuted some hapless heroin addicts for tiny amounts of smack.
Big dealers don`t live here nor do the police and neither does Gordon Brown. They`ve made enough money to escape. They only return as predators. If the smack ever does stop this place would explode because there`s a drink that`s stronger than whiskey and a hit that`s stronger than smack. It`s called FREEDOM. T~Hell Poem midst the fungal growth on dampening walls, in the hovels for the hopeless. The hunted looks on faces brutalized by belonging here, where children scramble and men tremble, in hypodermic hysteria, a lifetime being inferior, fear enfolds your dark interior.Poverty silently implodes. The Black Hole. A sinking sensation no drug can suppress. The cathode is cast upon our consciousness. No more words here.Only need. Let the children bleed.
