@Wawawis - I hear ya and feel the same way. But one day my daughter returned home with her cat. My house is slowly turning into his scratching post. He has a real scratching post we bought him, but he prefers anything but it!

This is why I'll NEVER have dogs in the house. My grandfather has had 2 rat terriers over the last decade and they BOTH have done this, and they have nice new carpet! Cats have their own issues. Yeah, I'm not much for having any animals in the house, except maybe fish.
