The GMC Envoy XUT with the sliding roof only lasted from 2003-2005.

The "man step" is a "new" feature on Ford pickup trucks.

Oh my goodness this car would put me in Nerd heaven. It's beautiful, I don't know why the rest of the world doesn't think wagons are sexy.

Studebaker is still alive in September 2008, but not producing cars.

They are now an equipment leasing concern known as Studebaker-Worthington Leasing.

They own the studebaker*com website. They have a page called "What's In A Name" where they explain that they are a descendant of the auto manufacturer.

GM copied the idea from Avanti Motor Corporation's "Studebaker XUV" concept (built on an Excursion chassis), circa 2002, and used it on a variant of the GMC Envoy, then sued Avanti claiming that their concept show car copied the Hummer H-2. The Hummer H-2 never had the sliding roof, or the sliding rear passenger doors of the Avanti Studebaker prototype.

My family owned one of these cars from 1964 until 1990--it was a wonderful, faithful servant. And yes, the roof did leak! It's gone, but not forgotten. Wish I knew where it was now.

I had no idea disc brakes were offered this early! I thought they started coming out in the late 60's. Not at the beginning of the decade.

We heard that this model leaked water really bad. But from the commecial, I'm ready to go buy one! We have a '60 Lark Wagon and I'd love to have that convertible top part...
