dream theater and symphony x i think are equally talented. its just a personal opinion of you who you think is better. if you really like prog. you can appreciate talent even you may not prefer the band.

dream thearter were the best without doubt but after awake never recorded anything good at all they went down hill fast yet symphony x record solid album after album and romeo destroys john in every aspect of guitar playing listen your ears dont lie.

I think it's possible to compare bands in a analytical aspect. Telling the differences but NOT saying this is BETTER. Everybody says their favorite band is the best in the universe. This is obviously fucking retarded.

I have no problem with people comparing them to Dream Theater... DT are the gods of prog metal, so comparison should be taken as a compliment lol. It's kind of like how everyone compares all thrash metal bands with Metallica - you should be proud to be compared with a band at the top of your genre :)
