That glitch when you go through the wall at the airport is actually pretty easy to do even when playing on real hardware, took me 8 attempt to succeed, but I couldn't go to the ending because I was playing on a portable nes clone and the cartridge connection failed, anyway, I didn't beat down the old man ( 1:25 ), so he would have been waiting for me...

Actually, he's using a glitch that makes the game look like it does from 2:10 - 4:03, but yes, it's meant to be non-sensical, the game had warnings on it that said that the game was near impossible.
