I have been in this girls shoes, it's scary and very hard to break down those walls.....I was in that girls shoes 4 summers ago when I saw Aaron live in concert in my home town at our annual carnival and I was right up front stage and while he sang this song I couldn't help it but the tears just started to flow....it took me 3 and 1/2 years to get out of that relationship if that's what you want to call it....but I've found the right man whose love has been strong enough he busted the walls down

I'm still working on"living up to my own values" each day.At the time, I didn't know I was"under his spell"of emotional abuse.Looking back over the years, I was treated very bad for a very long time. Actually feeling pain from emotional abuse, like real physical pain. You need to find good friends or family that help you stay in the real world and don't fall back into the abusive world.Find support groups or women's shelter for advice.

These messages are not sent out enough. People need to hear more about abuse. Especially the person being abused. Very often you aren't aware it's abuse. You need someone to "wake you up from it" And, you can overcome it! It takes the right person to support you to get back into the "right world"

this song means so much.. I'm trying so hard to work through everything my ex did, all the things he made me think. I'm so timid now, I don't know how to be myself anymore, he made me scared to be me. I'm getting through it slowly, relearning everything. I'll get there, but it makes me angery.
