Age of Decadence (PC) (TBA) (Iron Tower)

This is just a quickly edited video (some screenshots plus the latest gameplay clip) intended to increase AoD's presence on YouTube slightly. This is definitely an up-coming indie title worth spreading the word about, because, let's face it, who doesn't love a game being developed by such a stubbornly unapologetic old school, turn-based CRPG fanatic as Vince D Weller? For example, this is Mr Weller ranting about (among other things) gaming journalism and the RPG genre today;

"Im a big fan of the honest and blunt approach. An internet reader has a right to visit a game site and read Did Oblivion really suck or what? or Molyneux has gotta be on drugs!, dont you think? Instead every journalist pretends that Oblivion was a 10/10 brilliant masterpiece, that Molyneux isnt a lying old kook, and that Dungeon Siege wasnt a screensaver. Then Chris Taylor says that hes making Space Siege even simpler and everyone nods in agreement: Right on, man! Its about time someone makes a game for the amputees. BRA-VO!"

What can I say; you just gotta love the guy! ;)

I'm really excited for this game. More so then any other mainstream RPG coming. It looks like a Romanesque Fallout. I like Mr. Weller's attitude as well. He's not afraid to speak his mind in an era where hype-driven articles like those at IGN or Gamespot, everything look SUPA AWESOME even if it's dumbed down crap.

Anyway, this game is exactly what I want in a RPG by the look of it. There's no obnoxious amounts of flashy nonsense, just good old fashioned RPG gameplay.

I'm also very much looking forward to the release of Aod, and I only found about the game a few weeks ago. It looks remarkably ambitious and polished for an indie title, and it really shows what amazing possibilities there are nowadays for small developers and publishers willing to work hard for a game idea they really believe in.
