Worzel Gummidge Heads #1 - Handsome Head

Worzel Gummidge is one of my favourite classic TV shows of all time. This little video shows off the hilariously creepy "handsome head" (starting at 3:00), loaned to Worzel by the Crowman so he can find himself a wife.... needless to say, it didn't quite work out. Worzel's "thinking head" also features. Brilliant stuff !!

These scenes are from Series 1, Episode 4 - "The Crowman", first transmitted 18th March 1979.

HaHa! I love that, at 8.20, notice the teeth slipping out as he's offering the flowers to the scarecrow. Pertwee is doing his very best to carry on and keep the teeth in at the same time but he's struggling.

He tries using his tongue to force them back, he almost closes his mouth to stop them falling, still they try to escape.

Jon Pertwee really was a genius. It's annoying how some actors are revered and win Oscars for playing 'serious' roles and actors who are best known for comic roles always get overlooked. They should have created a special Oscar for Pertwee's Worzel Gummidge. Kids of a certain age know how supremely talented he was though, and he'll not be forgotten.
