http://www.filmbaby.com/films/4995 Underwater footage of a humpback whale fifteen miles off Bermuda. I had spent 300 hours over ten weeks trying to film the migrating humpbacks underwater. It was the end of April and I didn't have a minute of footage. And then I was in the water filming dolphins when this whale found me. The encounter was almost two hours long often within inches of the whale. It was also the first chance I had had to use my underwater housing and video camera. I had an overwhelming feeling that I was looking into the eyes of a very intelligent creature. It took me a week to sleep after the experience and a month to talk about the experience without becoming emotional. It is tragic that the Japanese whaling fleet is setting off this year to kill 50 endangered humpback whales, 50 fin whales and 935 minke whales in Antarctica in a whale sanctuary.

  • Incredible , Thank you !

  • This video is amazing. I sat with my 2 year old Daughter through the whole thing. She was mesmerized . So was I . Thanks for posting!

  • @elsa230503 My issue is not with the video. It's beautiful. Yes, there are many other recordings of whales on here, but this specific recording of whales, which is mixed in with the piano, is amazing. I'd love to hear that without the piano. The best recordings of whales on here are bad quality or have music over the top. I'm sorry I was an arsehole about it. You didn't deserve that.

  • There was absolutely no sound from this whale during my encounter. Turn your mute button on and you have the real experience. Simple enough and you don't have to ruin your day.If you want just the whales sounds I have recorded, there are plenty of those soundtracks on this same site with just a static image of a whale. These are done with a hydrophone lowered 30 feet into the water and the whale was nowhere in sight. Happy now?

  • Cool. Someone makes an awesome recording of some whale song, and then someone else goes and fucking plays a piano over the top of them. It may as well be death metal. Ruined!

  • my favorite animal ever

  • you are so so lucky man,I hope you know that...
