Thousands of people loaded up the car, piled in the kids, and applied sun screen for the Houston Childrens Festival weekend April 10 11. The non-stop festival fun was packed with 8 Big Family Adventure Areas and 6 stages of entertainment and music, plus hundreds of activities, and in the midst of it all was KSBJ.
KSBJ was the Official Volunteer Media Sponsor for the Houston Childrens Festival this year. We helped recruit volunteers for the 1,000+ need to support this event. Sandra Beisier, Assistant to Leigh-Anne McQuitty, Director of Volunteers said , KSBJ has really assisted me with the volunteers. We are getting where we need to be! KSBJs volunteers are amazing and tend to go above and beyond with helping in the community.
Along with calling on volunteers, KSBJ also set up a booth at the Houston Childrens Festival. We had a Ginormous Mural that kids and families came by and painted. Jen from KSBJ's Evening Show, Kent Matthews from Light Force, and the famous Bob and Larry from the Veggie Tales were there to meet and greet fans and take lots of pictures. Plus, the KSBJ Prayer Station was out on Sunday to pray with attendees and take prayer requests. Thanks to Cornerstone Mortgage Company who helped make this possible.
The Houston Childrens Festival has now raised over $4 million for Child Advocates, Inc. and the abused and neglected children it serves. KSBJ was proud to be a part of such an amazing and life changing event.
