Here is Ted, our Barred Rock Rooster. He is 7 months old and mean. He chases me sometimes. He will not last long around here if he keeps doing that.

  • We've got Buff Orpington and Barred Rock hens and a Barred Rock rooster (didn't order him but here he is!) which are just about 6 months old - hens have been laying for a week or so. The rooster is a little aggressive with me and came after me today so I am pretty sure he is going to be dinner pretty soon (if I can get my husband to give him the hatchet job because I can't!).

  • i had an old english bantam rooster who was hurting my hens, no one does that, so i killed him, plucked him, cleaned him, and ate him, now i have a bir RIR, his son(s) next in line for the top roost, and a columbian wyandotte cockerel on the way

  • Cute video, i used to own one too ( twice the size of this one) they are pretty protective of their hens. I got rid of him because my nieghbors complained about his over crowing ( he would crow all day long every 5-10 mins ).

  • Daddy rooster :)

  • lovely "Kloster-Hahn" we say in Germany!

  • heheh we were told as far as roosters go he is just vicious, hence his name vicious

if we were that close he would attack us with his nasty spurs

he gave me a "bloodfall" on my leg

we've had to take base ball bats to him and shovels just to get the GROCERIES OUT OF MOM"S CAR

  • Thomas and I have one and we're scared of them because they're so powerful, and the silkies treat him like King and his two wives and daughter like Queen and Princess. The Royal Family have they're own grazing spot, hangout, and the others usually get food for them,Whenever the hens lay the other care for the eggs. But he sometimes treats them like his sons and daughters:when we feed them he let's them eat without them so there's more for them.

  • well somebody's gotta say it: NICE COCK!

  • In Germany these are called HABSBURGER KLOSTERHAHN :)

  • mine was mean, but the coyotes got them, which made me sick because they had their own buiding, much bigger than a coop
