I have to admit, not crazy about this version. I've been exploring as many versions for harmonium and piano as I can find, and this is one of the wierdest. Tune that piano, and what is with the trills???????
Oh well, of to find another version.

belachelijk wat hier wordt gedaan. Luister eens naar het zelfde spel op de ST Eustachius . Dan hoor je hoe mooi en harmoniues dit nummer is.

When a composer writes a work, he attempts for it to sound natural and beautiful on the chosen instrument; here, organ. On a good organ, this piece will be spectacular; the singing of the Hautbois at the start, so purely and sadly; answered by the force of some good French reeds; then a sea of fonds. This is unsatisfactory, because it does not sound beautiful. Possibly, when the composer wrote the work for the organ, he didn't want two weak midi patches botching it up. I am amazed at your nerve.

This is completely and totally APPALLING. I don't give a shit what is what written for originally, THIS SOUNDS LIKE A CIRCUS FREAK SHOW. Whoever played this in this fashion should be given the death penalty immediately. This is not music. Why is the piano and out of tune clunker piece of crap? SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE WHO DID THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgot one thing, you are right in asserting that it is for harmonium as well. But what is happening in this recording, is nothing what Franck had in mind.
