I am Ryan's (the boy) mother. We all watched the scene online and we were teaching Ryan how to re-enact it. We dubbed the sound, there is no way any of us would let Ryan get smacked like that.
He was laughing the entire time and had a blast making the video, you guys that are taking it way too seriously are either stupid for not realizing the audio is dubbed or just way too serious for your own good. Either way, little boys LOVE to roughhouse, Ryan is no exception.

@jeryl1968 how is that a shame? You can tell by looking at the boy's face that he was into it. He's probably around the age of 4-5, and finds this completely amusing. My nephew is the same exact way. He LOVES to roughhouse.

I've been watching the comments come in on this all day. The funniest thing about this video are the people who don't know this is from "Napolean Dynamite" and think this man is really hitting his son.
