The Coalition to Stop the F Street Closure was formed to prevent the continuation of a plan to gentrify West Las Vegas and block residents by turning one of the few access points into West Las Vegas into a culdesac, essentially cutting residents off from downtown and the proposed new development site. The coalition is fighting to prevent the fourth attempt in as many decades from successfully disenfranchising the residents of the under represented and historic neighborhood of West Las Vegas. The long term goal of the Coalition is to wrestle back the neighborhood from those who would seek to construct a business center which would block residents from continued economic and social progress rather than grant it. The Coalition is currently involved in litigation with the City of Las Vegas, The State of Nevada, Clark County, and the development N-Dot. It will take support from many segments of society for the efforts of the Coalition to be successful.
