  • Did you compare a Maple fretboard to this Rosewood one before you got this one? If so was there much of a Tone difference?

  • @hawg427 I borrowed the Tele from a friend, but a Maple fretboard would give you a brighter sound while the Rosewood is much darker. Maple is smoother than rosewood also, so bends and vibrato will be easier on a maple neck.

Just to add....When the maple fretting surfaces and rosewood fretting surfaces are new...that is when you can actually tell the difference. When you take a Maple neck Tele from 25 - 60 years ago...you cannot by any standard tell whether it has a rosewood, ebony or maple fretting surface until you actually look at it. As a Tele ages...it gets deeper and richer....just like any other mature instrument. By the time 25-30 years pass...you can't distinguish one from the next.

  • nice stuff son......
