Avro Vulcan & Avro Lancaster fly together at Waddington 2008

It can't get any better than this,the roar of the awesome Vulcan with the background throb of the Lancs beautifull V12 Merlins. Hard to believe they came out of the same factory only twenty odd years apart.It sends a chill down the spine to think that the Lancaster did what it was designed to do in WW 2. Thank god that the Vulcan nerver had to do the same, ie good night Moscow - although it did a pretty good job of messing up Port Stanley's runway!

man, i do wish i could see the vulcan. But i live in Canada, not the UK

or whatever that place is. ive seen the Lancaster ( 1 in north america!!!)

and the vulcan is next. ( I hope!)

I Still Remember Seeing this Same Lancaster when i Flew over My House in Bedford Flanked by a Spitfire and a Hurricane and She really does sound like Four Spitfire's [Which given that they was Flying quite low made it even more impressive]

It's Quite Striking to see how much Bigger overall the Vulcan is since i'd always thought the Lancaster was Bigger Given the Vulcan's a Medium Bomber
