Last night was Red, White, and Boom, celebrating the 4th of July weekend for us Americans. I took this video with my new-ish digital camera to capture some of the excitement and ended up filming more than fifteen minutes of the event. This footage in this is mainly near the end of the twenty-five minute show, right before the grand finale.
As for the song, yes, it actually is a song--ie, it has singing in it. With no immediate roommates to annoy for the time being, I got to fooling around with it a bit and ended up with a song called "Whisper Away." Essentially it's two verses with four voices overlaid on top of each other to give a chorus-y feel and smooth it out, help blend out some of the out-of-pitch notes. If I'm to continue this piece for a CD compilation or whatnot, I'll probably end up rerecording everything and working on both my singing and microphone technique.
As is, I highly doubt anyone is going to understand more than a quarter of the lyrics, if that even, so I'll post them below for those of you who want to know. I admit they're nothing special.

If you want to go, then go
If you want to stay, then stay
If you want to whisper in my ear
The things I don't want to hear
Whisper away
If you want to leave, then leave
If you want to love, then love
If you want to waste away
A lazy summer day
Let's waste it away
