It wasn't a measured action against a political threat, but an indiscriminate massacre of men, women and children. It was an attempt at complete extermination of a people, in the style that Germany emulated just a few years later on some other groups. @humanrights85 : This is fantastic news. I really hope a liberated and democratic Egypt and Syria can model its economy after Turkeys. I heard Egypt just opened up its own AKP party, and I also heard the Syria's opposition has had a functioning AKP opposition party for years. I just hope "NATO/Turkey" + Saudi Arabia intervene in Syria at least to arm the opposition so the Syrian people can liberate themselves like the Libyan people did.

@humanrights85: Sorry about specifics. I was just reading off of the IMF list for fastest growing major economies in the world. Turkey was 3rd for 2010. They have not posted 2011 statistics because 2011 is not finished yet. However InsheAllah Turkey will be first this year.

@Atlantaboy612: Also, I pray that Turkey intervenes in Syria. It would be great if "Turkey/NATO" wiped out ("al-Asad regime's) air defenses like in Libya, then Turkey flew sorties over Syria & just level "al-Asad" military from the air. Then Turkey can launch a ground offensive & arm Syrian's to liberate their own country. Then Turkey can place a ultra "pro-Turkey" Sunni Arab regime in power in Syria which could be a secular democracy like Turkey and could model its economy after it as well.

God bless Turkey. I am Arab (Lebanese Sunni) and I am very excited to finally see Turkey transition into this "Neo-Ottoman" identity and at the same time, have the 3rd fastest growing major economy in the world, maintain its massive military modernization program, and began to initiate its robust foreign policy. I really hope (and I think its going to happen given the great image of Turkey in the eyes of Arabs) that Turkey and its neighbors (GCC, Egypt, Iran etc) can form a MEU.

@BronzePlaque Good Question please become a Namadhi and HAdhi from MEcca and stay in Saudi Arabia you will know, just JEddah or Riyadh will also do. Turks are anatolian yet not European why?? coz ISLAM and Arabian culture is AFRO Asiatic or African culture in Eur- Asia.

the military elite of Turkey never beleived that a secular muslim country could exist, and considered themselves the vanguard of democracy and secular institutions since the creation of the modern Turkish state by Ataturk. they were always on the lookout for Islamic leaning political leaders in the country and have a long history of overthrowing political leadership they considered a threat to the secular state.

Its foolish for the army to waste time on secularism as Turkey is 99% Islamic whether they like it or not!! Their religion serves Arab interests, their Anatolian Race the cultural interests of Mongoloids and their nation Africa's interests. Strange Turks or in conflict with themselves all the time!!!!!!!!!!
