Here is the latest from my garden railway, I've been busy putting a bit of detail into the station road area of the layout with a few cars buses & road furniture including a working Belisha crossing and working Level crossing lights. Whilst it's not as detailed as you would get on an indoor layout I've had fun doing it and enjoy keeping it all working. Another project this year is working colour light signals.. i've experimented with a couple on the layout so far and i'm pleased with the results. Latest Loco to join the railway is a Hornby class 31 which so far has performed faultlessly. I've addd a snap of my Bristol VR bus in Southdown "shuttle" livery. The bus was built and painted by me from a Pirate Models whitemetal bus kit back in the '80s, The livery was used on the No.60 "Shuttle" bus route in Brighton between Mile Oak and Brighton Old Steine in the '80s a joint venture by Southdown and East Sussex County Council to provide a limited stop service.

  • Fantastic layout I am starting to collect my rolling stock etc to construct a layout. Can you tell me where you get the red lamps from on the rear of the coaches.

  • They are red LEDs which I have wired into the coaches myself

  • how do u make them stop at the train station thx plz get back to me

  • I control the trains using a wireless transmitter which sends a signal to the receiver which in turn sends a digital command to each loco. The system is called DCC (Digital Command Control)

  • that is wicked i love the british train how much have u spent on the hole things youve bought thx thats wicked loving it keep it up

  • Well if i were to count up all that i have spent on Model railways in my life it wou7ld run into many thousands of pounds. To be honest I don't know how much I have spent over the years.
