http://www.pbs.org/novasciencenow How do paleontologists get fossils out of the rocks they find them in? Watch as scientists free a fossil from the rock in which it is embedded. Then tune in to NOVA scienceNOW on Wednesday, July 9 at 9pm on PBS to get a look at the finished product!

    lol

  • @lederereddy

HAHAHA! ID never uses circular logic. What a laugh.

  • @xraidedlok It depends on how the fossil is preserved - it has to be more acid resistant for this technique to work. The matrix is dissolved away at a painstakingly slow rate, giving plenty of opportunity to remove the block from the tank and coat freshly exposed material. As long as you keep doing this, no harm should come to the fossil itself.

  • @kdc43 Go on them. Prove I am 4.6 billion years old. I'd like to see how your assertions convert into actual facts. RE sediments, they don't fossilise. They consolidate. Fossilisation is a very different process to the formation of concretions or calcretions too, which is simply the precipitation of various compounds into a solid rock-like mass (e.g. limescale - same process).

  • @lederereddy You seem to think that fossils are all that is used. Fossils can be used to corelate strata across different regions. If you find trilobite X in Scotland and in the US, you know the two rocks were laid down within the time X existed. If the rock in scotland can be radiometrically dated through an ash layer, then you get an absolute date which can also, within limitations, be transfered to the US locality.

  • @AlesErHD XP

  • About 4500 years ago there was a flood according to numerous historical accounts and of coarse there is the fossil record, also!

  • Evolutionists use circular reasoning. I read a quote from one of the leading proponents of evolution (response to a question) how'd you date this fossil? "we used strata to date the fossil" how did you date the strata? We use the fossils to date the strata. But strata's better than the fossils for dating" =? circular reasoning.

ID never uses circular reasoning. Intelligence is the best explanation for producing dense, information rich, complex engineering & design. Even in biology.

  • @Helliconian That's Strawman argument. Intelligent Design incorporates fossils and INTRA-species evolution in it proven Theory. Only using circular logic can you prove the earth is millions or billions of years old. Using that same "reasoning" I can prove that YOU are 4.6 billion years old! Things can happen very rapidly in nature. Some of the wood in Pres. Lincoln's tomb is fossilized.Water can lay down sediments then fosslized them in 500 years. The Great Flood cut the Grand Canyon in a year.

  • @Icehut LMFAO Isn't it clear? Satin duh!
