  • love your playing and singing. i just bought one of those dr500p's, hope i can make it sound half as good as you do. i must have watched your videos 10 times trying to make up my mind, your videos helped me decide, hope mine is as good as yours. thank you, ERenker

  • @ERenkert . Wow, thanks for your kind comments. I really hope you find happiness with the guitar. I use Martin SP strings which work nicely with this guitar. Good luck and best wishes.

  • hey, just curious. whats the action on this guitar like?

  • @JDCustomGuitars Hi, sorry for the delayed reply.

The action was set perfectly upon receipt. Very easy on the fingers with not rattles or buzzes and very very loud. In the 3 years I've owned it I have not needed to adjust the action at all. It is so easy to play, and the maple wood gives a nice bright tone.

I'm having a lot of interest on this guitar, so I may get round to doing a review vid sometime soon.

    Best wishes

  • i was looking to hear the epi maple masterbilt and i met your beautiful composition ..you should send your song to some recording companies..believe me i know what i m telling you.. you have to insist its very nice (i m a composer also..)

  • Yeah, It's a imitation "Humming Bird" pick guard.

I just thought it looks nicer. I used light gauges for a long time, but I thought I'd try a heavier set and have been very happy with the deeper tone, although they are harder to play,

  • Definitely sounds like a good deal for a solid wood guitar. I like Martin SP strings as well. I usually use light gauges. Did you change the pick guard on your DR-500P?

  • Hey thanks. I am in love with this guitar. It really is a gem. It is a b-stock (used stamp) item as there was a scratch on the front of the body, which you can only see in a certain angle of light. I got it from a dealer in the USA and had it shipped over. The guitar plus shipping and taxes cost me £250 gbp. A real bargain for such a beautiful guitar. I have found Martin SP+ 56, strings to be very good for this guitar. Good luck.

  • Good job singing and playing. I like your guitar too. I'd really like to have one of those DR-500P

  • hey thanks hikll1

    Will add more soon
