Tiger's Whip 5/10

A struggling Hollywood actor, Dick Winner, enters the realm of Asian folklore, philosophy and mysticism, when a rare debilitating erectile dysfunction - Koro - descends upon him. A dysfunction so rare, that to-date, only one outbreak has ever been documented - in the Far East, in the island city of Singapore.

Aided by an able Indian taxi driver (Krishna), Dick sets out on his quest to find a cure to his problem. His madcap quest leads him around the many different ethnic areas of Singapore, only to find solace in a Chinese sinseh (physician). There he is told that many believe a herbal brew, infused with the essence of the tiger's genitalia (whip), whill save him from his demise.

This caper film plays with the perennial question of man's quest for the balance between reality and truth. Embodied in this film is also the important message of tiger conservation. All these, set amidst the contrasting traditions and modernities of the island city of Singapore.
