SOCOM 4 - Sales Figures

After the not so well received launch of SOCOM 4, Zipper Interactive returns to their lavish parties apparently celebrating failure. Of course, the heavy dose of denial probably has something to do with it...

The sales so far are already better than Confrontation. It took that game about 4 weeks to hit the 270k mark. The game isn't better than Socom 1,2, or 3 in my opinion, so it will sell roughly a million copies after about 40 weeks. They want sales similar to Socom 1, but aren't going to get it by changing the key features of the game

Sales numbers at two weeks:

SOCOM 4 - 273,706

SOCOM Confrontation - 286,294

And really, comparing an online only game to a game with single player and online usually wouldn't be a fair comparison to make. Although, in this circumstance it's actually doing better which is rare. But in any case, this video has nothing to do with comparisons or totals and is simply a humorous spoof of a sales decline. And of course the game has to first be selling in order to have a decline in sales.

@ravenspe Yes its Online only. But think of it this way. Anyone new to the series who bought Confrontation probably wanted nothing to do with SOCOM, it actually gave SOCOM a bad reputation. That is why I am even suprised it managed to match Confrontation.

@ecm394 You really think that they are going to sell a million copies on 40 weeks. First off thats a long damn time and the bad publicity of the game isn't helping them. Plus the fact that BF3 and COD MW3 is coming out in fall is just going to hurt there numbers. They won't sell any games and if they do it will be used copies because alot of people will be traded it in to get new games. This game isn't going to sell a million copies, it will be lucky to see the 600,000 mark.
