Bertie has been much modified since Part 4. He now has 2.4 ghz radio control on the regulator and a number of enhancements from Roundhouse and other suppliers, as well as some home designed modifications. He is running here on Roy Wood's railway with various loads and with temporary nameplates (they were on a secondhand loco). His proper name is Harry after our new grandson! I have included the various supplier details as these guys made this conversion and the video possible.

  • Impressive. What is the life expectency of this type of live steam loco?

  • @GG1man - Thanks! These locos are well engineered and are from a company with superb spares and after sales service - so they will last many years. I have a Roundhouse loco from 1983 and it still runs beautifully. Like any machine, though, keeping it clean and well lubricated helps!

    Cheers

  • Chris- listening to this movie on headphones is fantastic!! The stereo effect of the chuffs is wondrous to the ear trumpets! Try it and see what I mean.

  • @PineTreeJunction - Thank you for your kind words Lindsay - I am glad you have enjoyed it. Bertie might be a perky little loco for Pine Tree Junction and I reckon that Tony Willmore would do a high gloss varnish if you twisted his arm ;-)

Oh yes - and I shall certainly keep on Chuffing!!!

    Cheers

  • Hi Chris, This has been a brilliant project which we have followed on your YouTube channel, your website and the GardenRailwayClub site. The detail of your descriptions and the quality of your photographs and video has been simply superb. Many thanks for an excellent project and remember to....Keep chuffing!
