Dean should have recorded more classic songs like this one. Sinatra always had perfect taste in the songs that he recorded, almost all coming from the great American songbook. Martin too often recorded schlock or kitsch.

Such an amazing voice. Reminds me of Frank Sinatra, but much smoother than him.

@arpeggio1358 Some might have criticized his fondness for "scooping" notes (if that's what they call it) but if he hadn't he wouldn't have been Dino. I looked up when he did this, late in 1961 when he would have been 44. I think the very heavy smoking eventually took its toll on his voice, but it sure was in good form here.

@larrydonguy The best voice teacher at my University thought that Dean was marvelous. He often cited Dean as having a voice that was completely effortless. And this was a man who spent his teaching career teaching young opera singers.
