  • Is there any chance you have the clip from a few months ago when Charlie Lopresti from Ch.13 caught up w/ Marty? I watched it but just didn't tape it...

  • Sorry, I didn't see that one.

  • = ] Great! Always enjoyed Marty's forecasts back in the day; the cats wandering through the shot, the felt icons on the display, his accent & his smile! Thanks Marty, & thanks y'all for remembering him.

  • Marty used to do commercials for the car dealership I worked at-he was always such a gentleman,love him! His stories awesome......

  • We used to crack up at that guy and his smile at the end of the broadcast. And sometimes he'd be holding his cat. LOL

  • Anyone who remembers Marty or wants to know more about him should read his book, "Marty on the Mountain: 38 Years on Mount Washington" by Martin Engstrom. You can order it on the Mount Washington Observatory's web site.

  • I grew up in NH in the 1960's and remember watching Marty all the time. I always loved his smile at the end of the segment! Now, on the other side of the country in the San Francisco Bay Area I am thrilled to watch his last broadcast. Thanks, Marty! And good luck in whatever you do next.

  • Climbing Mt. Washington and meeting Marty was memorable. He proved to be a gentle and gracious soul - showed around the studio and introduced us to his cat. hats off Marty

  • I remember one time Marty was reading the weather report and the cat crossed between him and the camera. He paused, watch the cat cross the screen and then picked up from where he left off.

  • FYI: He did happen to write a book anout his life on the mountain. You can find it on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

  • Marty;

    Thanks for all the years of entertainment and information. You're a New England Classic.

  • Gorry, don't seeing Marty again make me want to cry. I loved Marty growing up and I l ove seeing him again now.
