I mostly only like Chinese soap operas is they are from the Ming Guoperiod which was before Cultural revolution, lae Victorian Era, WWI, or ancient times, but truehistorical, not silly Taiwan/HK satires. Usually Ming, Tang, and Han, Dynasty are most interesting.
Yeah, I notice Korean things are very popular in China. But, all sad, and endings are poorly written, and all actresses look exactly the same.

My screen name is Egyptian & yet I'm Chinese WTF!!!??? My mother loves to watch Chinese Soap Opera Dramas especially Korean. They're all boring to me unless it was historical then I'll watch some

In case you didn't know The Han, Ming, & Tang are the 3 Kingdoms of Romance but I like Monkey King aka Sun Wukong translation (Aware of Emptiness), Seeker of Truth a whole lot better. Even though I never been to one & you gone to China, you should check out their opera house cause sometimes someone will dress up as the Monkey King & his staff

I would but only my father-in-law likes Chinese Opera, and he ONLY like Peking (Bejing) operas.
The rest of the family doesn't like opera at all.
