  • nice. How did you align the shafts. Straight edge or something more sophisticated. I am in the process of building one with a mercedes 240d engine and a 25kw head. I just had my drive plate made and my next challenge is going to be the shaft alignment. I am worried about my abilities here. I am a finsish carpenter and usually work to the nearest 1/32 at best. Tips? Thanks

  • Just straight edge. You have a big advantage with the coupling L type from Lovejoy .

  • Did you run it on vegetable oil water emulsion?

I have one and run very well on an emulsion.

    Bye.

  • Not yet. Im working on a 3 way valve to run it on WVO and used motor oil (70% oil -30% dino)

  • @toolmanforever 1 port on the hopper plate has a pickup tube that further down into the water jacket. This creates enough temperature difference to set up a thermal siphon.

  • How is this generator doing today? Ive heard these cheap chinese generators were junk, but the price sure makes it tempting. Is yours still doing fine? How much do you use it? Also how is your lovejoy coupler working? It didnt worked very well for my 6kw generator, the cheap buna N spider didnt last very long. Which spider did you use?

  • good video! I have this same engine and am getting it going after sitting storage since y2k. You have both water outlats in the top of the engine. Should you have one come out down low on the block (like out the drain cock, although it needs to be enlarged to .75 inch pipe to flow better) to be more efficient in creating a hot/cold water loop?
