The win/lose thing is random at best and apparently, i think age and also experience which seem to be gained through the number of kills, at least seems that way i had a t-rex that had a huge kill count and for some reason wouldn't panic if he was scared away by a spino during a duel, this before i installed the genesis expansion pack which inverted the spino i wanted em to fight not fear each other at least that way one of them won't be running around like an idiot. In GEP case the spino.
