First time flying on an Airbus A380 coming back to Hong Kong from Singapore. This aircraft (9V-SKE) was delivered in June 2008 and the 4th A380 received by Singapore Airlines. I was quite excited to fly the A380 since it was my first time on this double decker and purposely chose this flight in the morning just to fly on the A380.

At Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3, the check in process is quite interesting. Rather than having a central location where all the passengers are screened at the same time like most airports, passengers are screened at the gate where they board their flight. Each gate area has its own security facility so passing through security is very quick.

Some observations while onboard the A380:
1) Very quiet especially during the takeoff and cruise phase of flight.
2) Compared to other aircraft types, the A380 has a large gap between the window seat and fuselage side wall. If you want to rest by leaning against the wall, it is very difficult to do so.
3) The fuselage side walls is noticeably thick. The distance between the outside window to the inner plastic panel is estimated to be about 6 inches thick.
