Sure games like GTA IV with their open world and games like CoD with their Awesome multiplayer drags you in and has you playing alot but it's nothing compared to what Toribash did to me. It didn't drag me in... It sucked me like a
vacum, closed the door out and buried my feet by the chair. Now that might sound like something bad but it's not if you like the game!
I've played GTA IV for 113 hours, 142 if you add the expansion packs and CoD for 175 hours but Toribash has had me playing for 318hours!!! That's a LOT, ESPESIALLY for an IP!
Toribash is all about manipulating joints on your stick man and then watching what you made him do... you can grab, tore, throw, puch, kick and whatever you want to... It'll be hard to come into but after a while you'll be playing like a pro...
There are 2 modes. Free play which lets you manipulate both stickmen, you and a dummy. And then there's the multiplayer which has you facing of against an opponent. You manipulate the joints you want to and press space when ready. then you wait for him to do the same or until the timer reaches zero, next a short animation of a set number of frames will be played and then you redo the manipulating. Although planning out your next attack is fun, the funniest part is watching the match unfold and saving replays... (I have TONS of them...)
The game is Free and Fault free. The people you meet are almost always nice and there is a TON of game modes ranging from Sumo, karate, judo, skating, swordfighting and balldodging to shuriken throwing, superman flying, megajumping and just fooling around.
Scoreboard time!
Gameplay: 10/10 The gameplay is a frickin' masterpiece and should get more attention. I really like the idea and I'd love seeing more games impliment unique gameplay like this.
Graphics: 8/10 The graphics are really nice and the simplicity mixed with great physics and nice effects like the shadows, reflection and blood turns the game into eyecandy.
Story: 0/0 There is no story although none is needed as it has arcade type gameplay...
Sound/Music: 3/10 There is music but I prefer turning it off and listening to whatever I want to and the sounds aren't that good either.
Replay value 11/10 The replay value is next to unlimited as moving a joint 10 frames delayed will make a completely new fightscene and with tons of frames and joints the possobilities are almost endless, add in the mods and it's even more than that!
Free +5
TOTAL: 37/40 This game is a perfect fit if you're searching for something different, fun and addicting. I completelly and utterly recommend it!
@Slaskekurt I've played mostly freeplay making awesome replays and stuff...
