La Maitrise de Caen, founded in 1987 by Robert Weddle has been directed by Olivier Opdebeeck since January 2003. It is the result of a collaboration between the Conservatoire National de Region and the Education Nationale.
The choir consists of 26 boys between the ages of 11 and 14. Depending on the programme, a group of 10 professional male voices and also instrumentalists are used for concerts. The children begin the choir school curriculum at the age of 7 or 8 in the pre-choir school. A series of concerts prepare them for future public performances within the Maitrise choir.

Beaucoup de maitrise que beaucoup ne connaissent pas et qui mériterais pourtant d'êtes reconnu.
