Laura Branigan was a member of the band Meadow, which released one album in 1973 called The Friend Ship. The record was not a hit and has never been re-released. Laura preferred not to discuss her involvement with Meadow publicly. She sang lead vocal on three songs. When You Were Young, Lawless Lady, and Artist. She also sang backing vocals on a few other songs from that album.
This video is made up of clips of Laura from her movie Backstage. It is from the last half of the movie. I tried to capture her as the immaculate artist that she was.
To see clips of the first half of the movie, look for my clip called Silver Dreams.
what a voice! what a great artist! I think she's so underrated!
I saw her live once at a tiny dive bar in orange county and she shook the walls with her power.
I would have given anything to see her performance of "Love, Janis!"
