Great unit working away etching into various materials. Used for PCB manufacture, Jewellery, Home hobbies, modelling etc.
Saw some great 'two sided' pieces that had then been used as moulds into which pewter was poured and wonderful 3D Pendants made direct from a PC.

How durable is this thing? can it create more than 100 items before breaking down?

I cannot say from experience. I did speak to the guys on the stand at the Gadget show and they said it was really no problem. It is mechanically like the 70s, 80s printer/pen plotters (apart from the spinning drill bit).

They had a number of units running solid for the whole show as well as making things to have in their show cases before the show.. Same units that I then saw..

Not for mass-production, but for a serious home hobby, perfect.

Well, I'm not saying that I'm going to make thousands of items every month. But let say I use them for home industry, people ordering custom designed figurines and I will build it for them with this device.

My calculation with this thing is I need to build around 30-70 items (depends on the price) before I can gain profit.

How would this compare to a Modela MDX-40A or the smaller machines already offered? And how big is the milling area?

Is this meant to complement their existing offerings or replace one of them?

    Please advise.
